The clinical issue of interest is depression and the importance of access to psychiatric nursing services for those diagnosed with the problem.

The article relates to the clinical issue of interest as it focuses on the impact of nurse-centered care for individuals diagnosed with multi-sclerosis where depression and anxiety are major concerns and mental health comorbidities. The article explores the important roles of having a psychiatric mental health nurse to help reduce stigma and improve access to mental health care services for such persons.

Ethics of research: The study involved human participants and the researchers got approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB). They also adhered to ethical aspects like informed consent and privacy and confidentiality of the participants.

I selected this article since it focuses on the prevalence of depression among older persons which increases the possibility of disability yet the population has the lowest level of access to mental health services. The article relates to the clinical issue of interest since it explicitly discusses aspects of depression in older persons who require effective interventions. The article shows that only half of older persons diagnosed with depression get continuous access to mental health care despite its adverse effects like causing disability.

Ethics of Research: The article follows research ethics as it involves human subjects or participants by adhering to the confidentiality and privacy of their information and data. The authors also got informed consent from the research subjects to ensure the validity and reliability of the findings.

I chose this article as it demonstrates the core aspects of implementing a mental health program. These include successes, challenges, and barriers that can enhance accessibility and at the same time, reduce or hinder it. The article relates to the issue of depression since it explores the benefits of having mental health programs to enhance access to quality services and ways to deal with challenges and barriers associated with such initiatives.
